Since early 2003 we have been organising SpeedMark fundraising events for schools.

Organising an event is simple. All you have to do is firstly arrange an assembly date for one of our ex-professional footballers or qualified coaches to come out and talk to the children. We also agree a suitable date for the event day to take place.

We provide all Sponsorship forms for every child and posters to display around school to help promote the day.

On the day of the event, every child (and teachers!) take part (regardless of ability or whether the children have been sponsored or not). We have a firm belief that the SpeedMark Challenge is for EVERY child!

The event involves a fun inflatable football goal, with an integrated speed radar at the back of the goal. When a shot is kicked into the goal, the speed of the shot is displayed on a digital display in the back of the goal in mph.

All the children take 3 shots each and we record their fastest speed on a Gold Award certificate. The fastest boy and girl in each class are then presented with a Hot Shot Award and a medal!

Whilst each child is taking their shots we ask all the other children to cheer and encourage their friends on, this helps to create great self belief and a real fun atmosphere.

It takes approximately 25 minutes per class, causing little disruption to the school day!

Schools have been delighted with the events, as there is little work and no cost involved for the school. Schools have informed us that it is by far their most successful fundraising event as well as being a really fun day and one which promotes the participation of sport to all.

The event really does appeal to all children, boys and girls, and not just the keen footballers!
